PAINT COLOR TRENDS 2020

A fresh palette. A revitalized spirit. A soft, rosy hue blooming with potential. Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year 2020, First Light 2102-70, is the backdrop for a bright new decade.

The ten harmonious hues of the Color Trends 2020 palette, including First Light, deliver modern paint color pairings that combine optimism with understatement, a timeless way to lighten up.

White and Light Paint Colors are still the Most Popular

Gray, beige, white, earth tones and other neutrals dominate our bestseller list when it comes to our most popular interior paint colors. Currently, I am recommending a consistent light paint color throughout the home. It will make the space larger and a more cleaner pallet, allowing your furniture, art, and hard surfaces (cabinets, flooring, counter tops, fixtures, etc.) to come to the forefront and shine.

Try on Your Colors

There is no better way to find the paint color you love than with a pint sample. Brush on the color(s) you are considering and test it in a variety of lighting conditions to examine the color before you buy. Paint both wall and door/window trim color(s) to give you a more accurate reading of the end product.

Colors are individual

Although there are color trends, you need to choose a color(s) that moves you (makes you happy or content). Remember that paint is not permanent, so if in a few years, you want to change the color, it is an easy modification. I have some clients who change their paint color(s) every few years!
